Dr. Thomas Garrott began his practice of Dermatology on the Gulf Coast in 1974. He is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Garrott specializes in general dermatology, which includes skin cancers, acne, warts, psoriasis, eczema, rashes, and moles. He graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and received his dermatology training at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center. After serving eight years on active duty with the USAF as a Flight Surgeon and Dermatologist, he opened his private practice in Ocean Springs.
Alan Crawford, PA-C, is a native of Mississippi, and trained at the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. He received his Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies with a focus in dermatology from the University of Nebraska Physician Assistant Program. Alan is certified as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the National Commission on Accreditation of Physician Assistants. He is licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant. He is a graduate with advanced training in all aspects of dermatology.
PAs diagnose and treat a wide variety of patient complaints including skin cancer, warts, eczema, acne, rashes and moles. PAs have prescriptive authority in Mississippi as well as 47 other states across the nation. Alan is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and a fellow member of the Society of Dermatology PAs.
Rebecca Guice, PA-C is a native of Ocean Springs, MS. She received her undergraduate and graduate education and training at the University of South Alabama. Prior to starting PA school, Rebecca worked for Garrott Dermatology as a medical assistant. She graduated from PA school in 2016 and is certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Accreditation of Physician Assistants. She has prior experience in oncology and urgent care. Rebecca is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, as well as a member of Mississippi Academy of Physician Assistants. She will be seeing patients in both our Ocean Springs and Pascagoula locations.
In her free time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and two dogs. Her hobbies include boating, running, and cooking.
Melissa Thierry PA-C, MHS, received her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Alabama in 2012. Her undergraduate training was done in her home state of Michigan, where she graduated with honors from Grand Valley State University in 2009. She specializes in general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology and is board certified by the National Commission on Accreditation of Physician Assistants. Melissa is a Diplomate member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Melissa joined our practice at the Pascagoula office in 2018. She specializes in skin cancer detection and treatment, psoriasis, acne and rashes, among other things. Melissa is also an expert in neurotoxins and dermal fillers. Her clinic days are Tuesday-Friday and she is currently accepting new patients.
